Conversational Search

Synopsis

Conversational Search refers to a method of information seeking in which a user formulates an information need over the course of multiple turns of a conversation, typically in natural language. This interaction paradigm enables a retrieval system to determine a more precise definition of a user's information need, to establish a model of the user consisting of properties, preferences, and knowledge, and to adapt its responses on a syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic level (personalization). In this regard, our research aims to tackle issues such as personalization, persona imitation, and user simulation. [demos: lecturenotes infobot, user simulation] [events]
